FAQs

What is a Doula?

1

A non medical professional who is hired to support and advocate for families during pregnancy, birth and postpartum in whatever way works for them. I help you feel informed, confident, and supported throughout the experience.

Will a doula replace my partner or medical provider?

2

Absolutely not! Doulas can offer birth partner support but this would be a different type of care. Part of my goal is to work alongside your chosen birth partner to help them to feel more confident in supporting you-while your medical provider focuses on clinical care.

When should I hire a doula?

3

Get in touch as soon as you seen that blue line! Never too soon! It’s best to book a doula early in your pregnancy to ensure availability and allow time to build a relationship. However, I welcome clients at any stage, including those looking for support closer to their due date or postpartum.

It feels like a big expense, is having a Doula worth it?

4

Many families find that having a doula leads to a more positive, supported birth experience. Studies have shown benefits such as reduced stress, increased satisfaction, and sometimes fewer interventions. Most importantly, it’s about having someone dedicated to your comfort, preferences, and overall well-being.
